Laser Skin Procedures
Laser resurfacing is still a very new procedure. But already it has been shown that laser skin procedures produce less bleeding, less bruising, and less post-operative discomfort than other resurfacing methods.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
One of the most recent advancements in anti-aging remedies has been laser skin resurfacing. Laser skin resurfacing reduces the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles, scars, and hyperpigmentation, as well as treats large areas of the face. Laser skin resurfacing has gained popularity because of its advantages over alternative approaches that may cause discomfort, bleeding, and bruising, leading to longer recovery time.
Laser skin resurfacing uses laser light and treats deeper layers than microdermabrasion but not as deep as laser scar removal. For acne scars, especially adult acne, laser skin resurfacing may be sufficient, but for deeper acne marks on the face, laser scar removal may be a more effective treatment.
Laser Scar Removal
Laser scar removal reduces the appearance of scars by fifty to eighty percent and helps prevent their recurrence. The laser scar removal technique can reduce the appearance of keloid scars, hypertrophic scars, and atrophic scars, which have the following characteristics:
- Keloid Scarring: Firm, raised, and reddish-purple scars that extend beyond the initial wound area and builds over time.
- Hypertrophic Scarring: Firm, raised, and pink scars that remain within the initial wound area and possibly naturally regress over time.
- Atrophic Scarring: Depressed pin like pockets in the skin that can result from skin conditions or diseases such as acne.
Laser Hair Removal
Wouldn't it be great to never deal with the tediousness, frequency, expense, and pain of constantly getting rid of unwanted hair again? Laser hair removal makes this possible by using a laser beam of light to remove unwanted hair and keep it away for a long time. Laser treatment can remove hair from many areas of the body, including the face, upper lip, bikini line, and neck area.
